Caroline Matthews, Woodland Artist in North London

Hello, I’m Caroline Matthews, a practising landscape artist with a love of the natural world, particularly treescapes.

I love spending time in woodlands, looking closely at the shapes, colours, light and textures around me. There is always something to discover, from the way light filters through the trees to the intricate patterns of bark, leaves and branches. These places are a constant source of inspiration and a place where I feel happiest.

My paintings and drawings come from this love of looking and making. Working with colour, texture and mark-making, I enjoy exploring the character of a place and finding ways to express what draws me to it. Alongside my original paintings and drawings, I also create prints inspired by my work.
